Plain-English advice
I explain what matters, what does not, and what the risks are in normal business-owner language.
About Dave
I’m Dave Nevill, owner of Hughes IT Solutions. When clients call, email, or text for help, they get me directly — not a ticket portal, not an outsourced support desk, and not a rotating cast of technicians who have to learn their setup from scratch.
Where it started
My mother was a Systems Engineer at IBM for more than 20 years, so there was a computer in the house before I could walk. Technology was not something I discovered later — it was part of the air in the house.
I started doing IT work for a paycheck in the 10th grade, and honestly, I never wanted to do anything else. I love learning, solving problems, and helping people understand what is happening without drowning them in technical nonsense.
Owner to owner
Small business ownership runs in my family. My late father was a caricature artist who built and managed a small team of artists working with places like Disney and cruise lines, and he had a big influence on my decision to work for myself.
My brother Tommy and his wife Kelsey carry that same owner-operator spirit today with Nev’s Barbecue in Palm Beach Gardens, a Texas-style barbecue restaurant that has earned local awards, magazine coverage, and a feature on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
That background matters because I know small business is personal. It is payroll, reputation, budget, stress, family, employees, and a lot of pride. When I help a client make a technology decision, I think about it like a fellow small business owner — not a corporate helpdesk.
How I help
Clients often call me before they buy software, replace computers, change phone providers, move email, rebuild Wi‑Fi, or make a bigger technology decision. I’m happy to talk through the idea, turn it into a practical plan, compare options, shop systems or vendors, and then make it happen.

Small businesses do not have money to burn. I help match the right solution to the job and budget.
I spend hours every week reading, learning, and evaluating new hardware, software, and security trends that matter to small businesses.
